Tom has over 35 years of experience in both private equity and operations management across a broad range of industries. In addition to being on the investment committee of Hemingway, he is also the Co-Founder & Non-Executive Chairman of Beckway. Previously, he was an Operating Partner and Interim Executive at both The Riverside Company and Sun Capital. He was also a senior practitioner at AlixPartners. He started his career as an Industrial Engineer for First Brands.

Mike Thompson

Partner

Mike is a seasoned leader with over 40 years of experience in consumer and commercial businesses, including roles as CEO for companies ranging from $60M to $500M in revenue. He has held executive positions at Rubbermaid, Masco Corporation, and Black+Decker, and began his career in product management at Sunbeam. His expertise focuses on value creation, due diligence, and corporate governance.

Mike has over 40 years of experience in both publicly traded and PE-backed companies within consumer and commercial products. Mike has served as both an operator and operating partner throughout his career.

Alec Strull

Partner

Alec has 10+ years of experience in lower middle market transactions across various industries. He focuses on the due diligence of investment opportunities, monitoring existing portfolio companies, and helping accelerate value creation. He previously served as a Vice President at CenterGate Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm. Previously, Alec was an investment banking analyst at Houlihan Lokey and started his professional journey at J.P. Morgan in their asset management group. He is known for his ability to transform challenges into opportunities, consistently delivering impactful results.

Michelle Sherlock

Investment Relations Principal

Michelle has a strong background in investor and stakeholder relations. Prior to Hemingway, she led Business Development in the Pharmaceutical practice at a top executive search firm. Prior, she also served as a Project Manager in both Healthcare and Human Resources practices, overseeing opportunities from inception to completion. Michelle began her career at Columbus Circle Investors in their Alternative Strategies Group.

Michelle leads Hemingway’s investment relations efforts. She has an extensive background in business development and stakeholder relations. Her broad network and experiences help bring the right people together.
